I was asked by the Voyageur Festival organizers if I’d be interested in participating in an International Cheese Carving Competition while I was in Winnipeg doing a snow sculpture. I, of course, said yes.

The block of cheese was 44 pounds (20kg) and we had 3 hours to carve something. The other carvers were from Germany, Netherlands, Manitoba and Ontario. During the carve, the Winnipeg Free Press interviewed the carvers. You can read that interview here.

I got second place for my efforts.
